Walk for Wishes
Saturday, July 18

More pictures and video coming soon ...
Hello Everyone,

Just an update on July 18th's Walk for Wishes.

First of all ... we got very lucky with the weather and had a sunny, perfect morning throughout the event.

Huge thanks to to everyone who came out to walk, volunteered, donated or sponsored the event!!

Together, you made Walk for Wishes a success, and enabled our Western PA Twilight Wish Chapter to continue granting wishes for local seniors.   View Complete List of Sponsors »

We had a great turn out for our first event ... about 60 registered to walk, with lots of families and friends walking in honor and in memory of seniors ... and eight year old Adriana Berry cut the ribbon to start the walk.

WPXI News came out to cover the event. The Walk for Wishes was on the (channel 11) news on Saturday at 6 and 11pm, and on Sunday morning.

Mike Webber of BOB FM emceed the prize drawings, which included: a $100 cash drawing donated by Fox Rehab; and a Pirates Basket that included 2 box seat Pirate game tickets right behind home plate, a Seven Springs golf pass, and more, donated by Mindy McKee of Caring Mission Home Care.

There were free refreshments, great music, vendors offering information and consultation on wellness and senior care, free massages, and door prizes donated by a large variety of local businesses.

Representative Joe Markosek was in Harrisburg working on the state budget, so couldn't attend, but he called to say that we have his support, and that he would have much rather been with us at the Walk, than in Harrisburg working on the budget!!

Please see the list of volunteers and sponsors below. Their help and support made it possible to hold the first Walk for Wishes! I apologize in advance if I missed anyone, … please let me know so I can add them to the list!

I also want to thank the husbands, friends, and family members who helped us prepare, set up, and man tables. We couldn’t have done it all without everyone’s help!

Together we can do great things for our local senior citizens!!!!!

Thank you for your continuing help and support!!!
